VOLUNTEER

Ballet Theatre of Scranton is strictly a volunteer organization and we would greatly appreciate your help! The following is a list of areas in which volunteers are needed.  Please consider donating some of your time to one or more of these committees.

Stage Crew  Help during productions with scenery and props.  Help transport scenery, props, and sound equipment from storage to the theater and back after the performances.

Sound Help run audio during performances.

Props We are in need of two (2) volunteers:  One volunteer to help create, repair and paint props.  Locate and transport stored props from Storage Facility to Theater. One volunteer to assist backstage during performances.

Parent Helpers Help children with costumes, make-up, props.

Parent Security  Provide for children’s safety during performances.  Secure backstage auditorium doors during performances.

Ushers Greet patrons as they arrive and show them to their seats.  Help seat pre-arranged group reservations.

Performance Costumes Help with sewing, moving costumes from studio to theater back to studio. Help children put on costumes correctly. Measuring and ordering of costumes.

Special Event Costumes  Coordinate & Inventory costumes for special events such as La Festa, Santa Parade, Philharmonic Holiday Concerts.

Ad Incentive/Benefactor Coordinator Help collect ads and take payments for printing in spring program booklet.

Fundraising Help with BTOS Clothing.  Help with selling of Nutcracker, Senior Company, Children/Apprentice Company

Grants Coordinator  Help with submission of various grants to help Ballet Theatre generate funds to support the Nutcracker production costs.

Educational Performances Help Educational Coordinator with getting students from their school buses into the theater as well as seating the students for the educational performances for Nutcracker and Senior Company spring Ballet.

Spring Program Organization and layout of program booklet

Breakfast with Santa Coordinator 1st year pointe students dress as soldiers or jingle girls to greet the Marywood Alumni and escort Santa at the Breakfast with Santa event at Marywood.  Coordinator is responsible for scheduling the dancers, coordinating the costumes, and overseeing the events.

Shoe Bank Coordinator Coordinate a BTOS shoe bank.  Collect and organize dance shoes and periodic shoe exchange at the studio.  (May be a community service opportunity)

Classroom Parents Assist in notifying students of your child’s class of special events.  Also distribute fundraising material.  (Need a minimum of 2 parents PER class)

    Costume help is greatly needed, experience not necessary! Do you want to help?
