COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Since it’s conception, being a part of the community has been a principal component of Ballet Theatre of Scranton.   Ballet Theatre performs at many community events including

    • Annual performance at The Northeastern Pennsylvania Philharmonic Holiday Concerts
    • Annual performance at The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers at The Santa Parade
    • The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce SAGE awards
    • Susan G. Komen Northeastern Pennsylvania
    • Broadway Theatre League of NEPA
    • 150th Lightening of the Times Tower
    • Columbus Day dinner
    • Colombus Day Parade in NY
    • St. Patrick’s Day Parade
    • Veteran’s Day Show at Lackawanna College
    • The Century Club of Scranton 100th Anniversary
    • Local radio and television stations
    • American Heart Association Ball
    • Scranton’s First Friday
  • Scranton’s Sesquicentennial 150th Anniversary

The Company is committed to playing an important role in arts education:

    • Since 1998 the Company’s production of The Nutcracker has offered educational performances to over 15,000 school students.
    • Pennsylvania Council of the Arts, where Artistic Director Joanne Arduino represents Ballet Theatre of Scranton as a rostered artist.
    • The Northeastern Educational Intermediate Unit #19, the company works extensively in the school districts throughout Lackawanna, Luzerne and Susquehanna counties presenting their “Discovering Dance Program” and residencies of “Just Dancin’ Broadway”‘ and “Children’s Holiday Dance Theatre”.
    • Ballet Theatre of Scranton has conducted numerous lecture series at the University of Scranton, Keystone College, Marywood University, and Lackawanna College .
