The Dance Studio
The Official School of Ballet Theatre of Scranton
The Dance Studio: The Official School of Ballet Theatre of Scranton was originally founded by Constance Reynolds and in 1978 passed on to Joanne Arduino who gave it its current name. The school has a long tradition of established teaching techniques and prides itself in the training, performing and cultural aspects of dance.
Joanne and her staff, follow a graded system of teaching which enables the steady progress of each student. The studio is dedicated to the proper teaching of dance in all its forms to both children and adults. Quality and a positive work ethic are the hallmarks of the school. Discipline and personal attention help each dancer achieve a sense of accomplishment that is one of the unique gifts of a dance education.
Students are given the opportunity to perform, and showcase their accomplishments in annual school performances: “Come Dance With Us” by the Mini-Dancers each May; and “Just Dancin” by the advanced Jazz, Tap & Hip Hop performers each May/June. Ballet students who are members of Ballet Theatre of Scranton may perform in “The Nutcracker” each December, and full-length professionally mounted ballets each spring/May; in March, our Modern dance performance, Evolutions, is presented; and other opportunities as guests at various festivals/concerts and performing arts series throughout the year!
